Relief workers need robust knowledge in order to work with the beneficiaries in a professional way. They need to be informed and learn about the nature and scope of mental health and psychosocial interventions in emergencies, to help them take action in an effective and efficient way with vulnerable populations in the wake of natural disasters and conflicts.
